Conversing with the Cards – The Major Arcana: Judgment

Judgment

by Morgana Moonfire

Impressions: The picture is taken up by a beautiful woman with long red hair she wears loose unto her back; she is dressed in Celtic attire and sits in front of a tree with pink blossoms. Around the tree there are several people: a red-haired man and red-haired women dressed in see-through gowns. Their hair has been pinned up and two women are having a casual conversation. They are relaxed and on familiar terms with each other. The woman in front seems at peace, her hands rest interlinked in her lap and her gaze is steady but not hostile.

The card is imbued with serene energy. The pink blossoms convey the idea of spring: new, crisp energy that accompanies a rebirth, a new beginning. The whole atmosphere seems to be breathing life into the scenery. The woman looks me straight into the eyes but she does not seem to pass judgment. On the contrary, it appears as if she is waiting for me. She is the listener and at this moment I have drawn her full attention. She is seemingly oblivious to the people behind her who are clearly at leisure and having a good time in each other’s presence.

The card to me clearly puts across the notion of second chances. Everything that withers and dies, everything that turns old, useless and ugly, will be reborn and will be given a new chance to come into bud and flower. No situation is ever hopeless for sometimes the old needs to die so that it may be reborn much like a phoenix that rises from the ashes. If you can find the tranquil power within yourself, you will realize that every phase has to be completed in order to move on to the next one and in order to be able to continue the journey, an idea or project sometimes has to wilt and wither away to give birth to another, fresh one. Listen to yourself, be honest with yourself and be the one to judge whether a certain project or chapter in your life has reached its final pages. Finally, find the courage to sculpt a new plan out of the ashes of the previous endeavour.

Key words or sentiments: inspiration, the phoenix will rise from the ashes, be your own judge, be honest with yourself, listen to your inner truth, new endeavour.
